Light something. Begin again.
The morning arrives so quietly. Light at the edges of the curtain. The first bird. A world not yet asking anything of you.
And then, so often, we reach for the phone, and the day is no longer ours.
What if you stayed in the hush a little longer?
Leave the screen where it lies. Let the first voice you hear be your own.
Open the window and let the morning in, the salt or the eucalyptus or the cool of it, whatever it brings. Feel it on your skin.
Light something small. A stick of Dawn incense, hand-rolled in Bali with sandalwood, clove and cardamom, resting in its brass holder. Watch the smoke unfurl and rise. In homes all over the world, this is how the day has always begun: a flame, a little smoke, a quiet thank you.
Close your eyes for three breaths and ask how you would like to feel today. Let a single word arrive. Steady. Open. Bright. Carry it with you.
Then tend your face. Rose Face Oil warmed into damp skin, and the Copper Gua Sha sweeping slowly upward, along the jaw, the cheek, the brow. Cool metal, warm oil, colour returning like sunrise.
Some mornings will not make room for any of this. Little ones will wake early. Alarms will fail. Be gentle with yourself. A single breath beside an open window is still a beginning. It still counts.
