Begin with rose
Long before it lived in vases, the rose lived on altars.
It was laid at temple doors and floated in bowls of water. It was pressed, petal by petal, into oil, and that oil was warmed in the hands and smoothed over the skin of women who needed tending. In Egypt, in India, in the old herb gardens of China, the rose was the flower you reached for when the heart grew heavy.
We still reach for it. Perhaps the heart remembers.
Breathe it in and something loosens. The shoulders fall away from the ears. The breath, which has been waiting all day, finally lengthens. And for a moment you remember that you are allowed to be soft.
Let it find you in small ways
In the doorway, a veil of Rose Botanical Mist before you step into whatever comes next.
After the shower, Sacred Rose Body Oil pressed into warm, damp skin, slow as honey. It sinks in like silk and leaves a scent that stays close, like a secret you keep for yourself.
At night, two drops of Rose Face Oil cupped in your palms, held over your face for one long breath before you press them in.
And on the loud days, a flame. The Sanctuary candle, rose and frankincense and patchouli, turning the air golden and slow.
For the heavy days
Lay a hand over your heart. Breathe the rose in. Ask, gently, what you need.
Then wait. Let yourself hear the answer.
