Held, belly to birth and beyond

Held, belly to birth and beyond

In pregnancy, your body becomes a landscape that shifts with every week. After birth, it shifts again, in ways no one quite prepares you for.

Sometimes it can feel as though your body is happening to you. As though it belongs to everyone now but you.

Touch is how you come home to it.

For generations, in many cultures, new mothers have been oiled and held each day for weeks after birth. Not only for the skin. So that she knows, in her body, that she is cared for too.

While you are growing

After a warm shower, warm a little Mama Organic Body Oil between your palms. Let your hands find your belly and move in slow, unhurried circles. Travel over your hips, your thighs, your breasts, everywhere your skin is stretching to make room. Then rest both hands on the curve of your belly. Breathe. Say hello to the little one listening.

The oil is 100% certified organic: camellia, rosehip, avocado and jojoba, with a whisper of mandarin, lavender and frankincense.

After birth

Keep going, even if it is only now and then, even if it is only for a minute. Ask someone who loves you to oil your back, your shoulders, your tired feet. And let yourself receive it, fully, without needing to give anything back.

You are not only the one who holds. You are held too.

Mama Organic Body Oil was made for pregnancy. Our other body oils, including Sacred Rose, aren't recommended while pregnant. If you are unsure, check with your midwife or healthcare provider.
